The Dutch Global Health Film Festival is excited to host two inspiring evenings this year, taking place on May 28th and June 11th. Celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day and International Day of Action for Women’s Health with us! We are screening the powerful documentary "Below the Belt" (2023). This eye-opening film follows four women battling mysterious symptoms as they navigate the complexities of healthcare systems that often let women down. With a focus on endometriosis – a condition affecting 1 in 9 women – the documentary highlights the challenges of misdiagnosis, dismissal and inadequate treatments. From societal taboos and gender biases to misinformed doctors and financial barriers, this evening explores the obstacles millions of women face in accessing healthcare. After the film, join us for interactive activities and continue the conversation in the foyer over a free drink!
